Prayer For Our Leaders
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 1 Timothy 2:1-3 KJV
Sometimes we, as Christians, forget that we are under the authority of Christ. Being under his authority means we do things his way, whether we agree with it or not.
We tend to pray for those we like, but and if we have a negative opinion about someone, we tend to skip right over them in our prayers.
This is not the way of Christ.
We need to push aside all personal feelings and do what our Lord has commanded us through his Spirit speaking through him and his Apostles. We are told to pray for all those in authority over us, and we are even told why, that we might lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
We are even told that doing this is good and acceptable in the sight of our God and Savior. Now I've heard Christians say other than that. I've heard we shouldn't pray for this President because he's this and he's that.
Those that talk like that are speaking against the very words of God, and if we are not praying for them, we are walking in disobedience.
We must put aside all our personal feelings, that we might effectively pray for him, his cabinet, and all of our other leaders.
And to those on the opposite side of the spectrum that look unto this man as a God and Savior; you too are walking in extreme disobedience, because we are told to not have idols of any kind in our lives. It is God alone that gets all our praise, worship, and adoration.
He alone is worthy!

Heavenly Father,
On behalf of Eternity and You Global Ministries, and on behalf of myself as an American citizen, I submit myself under the authority of Christ in submitting this prayer for our president. I ask first that you give me the grace to lay aside any personal prejudices I may have towards this man for any perceived wrongdoings or egregious acts I believe he may have committed. I do not agree with all he has done, but I look beyond his faults that I might present this prayer to you in all truth and love and faith.
Father, I pray first for his salvation. I know you are a God that care about the souls of men, desiring that none will perish in their sins; so, I pray that if he does not have a genuine relationship with you already through your loving Son, our King, the Lord, Jesus Christ, that he will have a true encounter with him. I pray that you would break any hardness in his heart, that he might fall upon your mercy and grace.
I pray he will not only believe in you with a pure faith, but also that he might become a mighty man and warrior of God, walking in boldness against the evil rulers of the earth.
I pray he will have discernment and an ear and a heart that is opened to the voice of God.
I pray for his safety amongst those that will do him harm in any way.
I pray not only for his safety, but the safety of his family as well. Cover them and hedge them in, Lord God.
I pray that he passes laws and mandates that are righteous and in favor of the people and oppose and strike down laws that will harm us as citizens and people under his leadership.
I pray that he would focus on building relationships with kings, presidents, and leaders of other countries, and not do things to tear down relationships and cause hatred and animosity within people of other nations.
I pray you will remove far from him any within his inner circle and in close proximity to him that are there with an agenda to eventually see him fall. Lord, bring within his circle those that would care for him, pray for him, and offer him wise council.
This prayer I pray in all sincerity and love, in the name of my mighty Savior, and God, the Lord, Jesus Christ, the Righteous.
